ADDY Awards, Big Wigs Announcements and Celebration Scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 21
The games have begun with notices sent out to winners of the American Advertising Federation-Corpus Christi Chapter’s ADLYMPIAD competition held in the spirit of last year’s Olympic games. On Thursday, Feb. 21, the AAF-CC will celebrate and announce winners of the 2012 ADDY Awards competition as well as introduce the newest class of “Big Wigs.”The chapter invites to the event anyone wanting to see who’s “best of the best” working among the advertising industry in the Coastal Bend.
Adlympians submitted 132 entries among the 77 available categories representing local creative excellence in the art of advertising. This level of competition represents the first of three tiers that can take winners all the way through district competition to the top––the national American Advertising Federation ADDY Awards.
Last year, AAF-CC added a new program to the competition line-up, “Big Wigs.” AAF-CC repeated the competition, again, which allowed chapter members to nominate local service professionals and companies within 20 categories. Winners receive special recognition for their excellent work for the advertising industry. In truth, without them, the industry couldn’t get much done.
“Big Wigs” will be announced during the Feb. 21 event.
Join AAF-CC and this year’s ADLYMPIANS at Mansion Royal, located at 8001 S.P.I.D., for an ADLYMPIAD themed event. Activities begin at 6 p.m. with cocktails followed by the awards presentation and dinner. A cash bar will be available. The event also features a silent auction.
Ticket sales are currently underway and are $50 for individuals and table sponsorships starting at $500. Deadline to reserve tickets is Monday, Feb. 18.
